St. Mortiz, one of the most famous region in the world, is chic, elegant with a very cosmopolitan ambience. A beautiful setting around the lake in the England Valley, near Italy and on the southern side of the Alps.

Suggested Itinerary

1st day

Arrival in Zurich. Take flight to Samedan ( 7 Kms from St.Moritz) or train to St.Moritz via chur. Change train at chur to Regional Express. Transfer to Crystal Hotel. Rest of the day free at leisure.

2nd day

After breakfast, from St.Moritz main station, ride on Bernina Express or Regional train to Bernina Diavolezza for taking cable car to Diavolezza (2920m) for viewing Piz Bernina ( 4053m ) and other peaks. Lunch at Diavolezza. Return same way to St.Moritz. Evening at leisure.

3rd day

 After breakfast, from St.Moritz-Dorf, ride on mountain railway up to Corviglia,(Possible after June 28) change to cable car up to Piz Nair ( 3057m ). Enjoy the beautiful mountain peaks. Return to Corviglia. Lunch at Corviglia. See Solar & Wind Power installations at Corviglia. Return to St.Moritz – Dorf by mountain railway. Evening at leisure.

4th day

 Whole day at leisure for shopping. A day will not be complete without visiting Hanselmann Koditorei in St.Moritz – Dorf near Zentrum. This is a very old (since 1800s) Swiss Confectionery house where one can enjoy food, tea, coffee and best confectionery in town. Don’t forget to buy home made chocolates at Hanselmann, renowned for their quality and variety. Their chocolates are not available anywhere else in Switzerland. For food and Pizza, we recommend Chesa Veghia, close to Rathaus in St.Moritz-Dorf and within walking distance from Hanselmann. For shopping we recommend Lamm Cashmere house located in Zentrum area.

5th day

Visit other places in Switzerland ( e.g. Zermatt with Glacier Express) or return to Zurich.

Bernina Exp.

A train ride on the Bernina Express is a panoramic experience in motion. It leads from the eternal ice of the Bernina mountains to the vineyards of the Southern Valtellina valley. This is the highest alpine crossing with a gradient of 70%, and indeed one of the steepest train-rides without cogwheels in the Alps. Reservations are required: CHF 7.- per person. Swiss Pass and Eurail Pass holders pay no supplement.
